Commodity crisis in the country resultant of distribution mismanagement: Gondal.

ISLAMABAD, September 17, 2009 (Frontier Star): Federal Minister for Food & Agriculture Nazar Muhammad Gondal has elucidated that ongoing commodity crisis in the country was the resultant of mismanagement in food distribution, and not food shortage or scarcity. Talking to media here Thursday he underlined that there was none sort of commodity shortage in the country, as in the season the Government has achieved surplus crop of wheat, but the prevailing mayhem for commodities was the resultant that to gain food items at subsidized rates from Sasta Bazars and currently "we have not any sort of shortage of neither flour nor sugar". He also informed that the incumbent Government was providing 100% subsidy on flour and to gain this subsidized flour the masses were standing in long queues and in this connection, there wasnt any sort of corruption and shortage. Responding to a query, he also informed that the Incumbent Government has also been facilitating the poor families with Rs. 1000/ per month to meet their house expenditures and the government has also initiated a program Wasil-e-Haq in aegis of BISP, under which the poor families would be given Rs. 3,00,000/- to set their family business. He also informed that to boost agriculture in the country the Government has also initiated Benazir Tractor Scheme program, under which 2-Lac tractors would be given to smaller farmers at subsidized rates.
