The really interesting architecture school link at Death is with Archeworks at http://www.archeworks.org. This is an alternative design school, one of whose founders is Stanley Tigerman. The school is directly concerned to express social concerns through design and does a lot of community workshop projects. Around a third of students are architects, a third designers and the rest artists, teachers, the odd lawyer and so on. 'Our aim', says Tigerman in a promotion movie on the site, 'is to be out of the box. This is more important than any single building I have ever done'.
