Commitment to cause was so great to see.

OUR courageous run to try and win that Premier League title might have ended in failure but the commitment of the team cannot be faulted at all.

Players like Yossi and Lucas have come to the fore Verb 1. come to the fore - make oneself visible; take action; "Young people should step to the fore and help their peers"

 well for the future.

The experience for the whole of the team from those on the pitch to the management will be one, I hope, that they will take some important lessons.

Once the so-called 'shackles' were off, we played with great freedom of expression and more goal-scoring chances were created and so more goals were scored.

Let's see this continue next season.

IT'S absolutely vital Rafa hangs on to the services of Xabi Alonso Xabier Alonso Olano, commonly known as Xabi (prounounced Shabi) Alonso and often misspelt as Xavi Alonso (born 25 November 1981 in Tolosa, Basque Region, Spain) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Liverpool F.C..  for next season.

He is exactly the sort of player we need who can help unpick those locked defences with important passes to the likes of Stevie and Nando.

The number of times he touches the ball over 90 minutes shows how important he is to Liverpool's movement from the midfield mid·field

In my view, holding on to Xabi would be better than forking out millions on Barry who never impresses me and commits far too many fouls.

RAFA BENITEZ should cash in now on Xabi Alonso.

Xabi is approaching 30 and we'd get a ton of money for him right now. A couple of years on and there's not much chance we'd get more than pounds 5m-pounds 6m.

The funds we'd get from selling Xabi on now would really help our plans for the long term.

gets a good reception when he returns to Anfield with Spurs on Sunday.

It was a real shame for us and the lad that things just didn't work out for him. It might have been so different had Torres stayed fit as the pair of them did link up very well in our 2-0 derby win at Goodison.

It was also sad for Robbie in that he's a self-confessed Red.

CARRA'S commitment to the Reds' cause was there for all to see at West Brom.

No-one can be in any doubt about his loyalty when pulling on a Red shirt, even though he has admitted his early allegiance was with Everton.

It might not have looked pretty, but you sometimes wish other players around him would show similar passion.

I'm sure he'll be ready to show the same passion next season in his desire to help us win that title.
