In today's discussion at the Commission's meeting, the commissioners chose the Wisconsin Gas recommended route that is 78 percent co-located with the Union Pacific Railroad Union Pacific Railroad, transportation company chartered (1862) by Congress to build part of the nation's first transcontinental railroad line. Under terms of the Pacific Railroads Act, the Union Pacific was authorized to build a line westward from Omaha, Nebr. and other existing utility infrastructure. This route will connect the lateral from the Guardian terminus near the Town of Ixonia in Jefferson County Jefferson County is the name of 25 counties and one parish in the United States.
