Commercial litigator David Bizar joins McCarter & English in Hartford as Partner.

 David M. Bizar has joined the Hartford office as a Partner.

Mr. Bizar's practice focuses on defending financial institutions and retailers in individual, class and mass action litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. The act or process of bringing a lawsuit in and of itself; a judicial contest; any dispute.

When a person begins a civil lawsuit, the person enters into a process called litigation.
 brought by consumers and regulatory authorities. He has also represented corporate and individual clients in investigatory, enforcement and licensure proceedings.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Bizar served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate A legal adviser on the staff of a military command. A designated officer of the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAGC) of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps.  General's Corps (JAG judge advocate general (J.A.G.) n. a military officer who advises the government on courts-martial and administers the conduct of courts-martial. The officers who are judge advocates and counsel assigned to the accused come from the office of the judge advocate ) with the 1st Cavalry Division as a prosecutor and chief of a legal assistance office, and with the Trial Defense Service as a defense counsel. He was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious service.

Mr. Bizar is very active in the bar and community. He has served as the Chair of the Consumer Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and received the Pro Bono Award from Lawyers for Children of America. Mr. Bizar graduated cum laude from both the University of Miami School of Law The University of Miami School of Law, founded in 1926, is the law school of the University of Miami, located in Coral Gables, Florida, in the United States. Curriculum , in 1994, and Northeastern University, in 1991.
