Commercial Production of Monoglycer Eoster.

A high-purity mono glyceryl ester project has recently started commercial production in Ningbo Tsinghua Fine Chemical Industrial Co., Ltd.

High-purity mono glycery ester is extensively used as additive in petrochemical, food processing and cosmetic sectors. In 1997 Zhongqiang Industrial Development (Group) Corporation, Tsinghua University and China Huatong Material Enterprise Group Corporation made a joint investment of 16 million yuan and established Ningbo Tsinghua Fine Chemical Industrial Co., Ltd. in Dagang Industrial City of Ningbo Development Zone. The project has a design capacity of 1 200 t/a monoglyceryl ester.

Equipment used in the project is totally from local sources. High-purity monoglyceryl ester for petrochemical sectors was produced in April 1999. Trial-use of the product is conducted in 8 large domestic petrochemical enterprises including Shanghai Petrochemical Corporation and Qilu Petrochemical Corporation. The product has passed the technical appraisal organized by China Petrochemical Corporation.
