) today announced that Sandler O'Neill & Partners, L.P. and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co. Inc., as representatives of the underwriters of CCB's recent initial public offering, have exercised the over-allotment option to purchase an additional 375,000 shares of the Company's Common Stock at $8 per share.

The issuance of the additional 375,000 shares is expected to be completed on Jan. 9, 2003.
