Pauls has been the Chief Accounting Officer at Commerce since 1995. As Chief Financial Officer, Pauls will be responsible for all of Commerce's internal and external financial reporting, as well as the Company's asset / liability management. He also will oversee Commerce Bancorp's investment portfolio. Pauls joined Commerce in 1994 as the Company's Controller. Prior to joining Commerce, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Camden County in New Jersey for two years. Pauls began his career at Ernst & Young, one of the leading professional services organizations, including five years at Ernst & Young's Pittsburgh (PA) office and five years in the Company's Philadelphia Office, where he rose to Senior Manager. Currently a resident of Haddon Heights, New Jersey Haddon Heights is a Borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 7,547.
