Commence hires new CEO and president.

SHREWSBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1996--Commence(R) Corporation, provider of Commence, the industry's premier Workgroup Information Manager (WIM), announced today the appointment of Mr. Larry Caretsky to the position of CEO and President of the company.

Caretsky brings to Commence Corporation more than eighteen years' experience in the application software and development tool industry, covering all vertical markets and industry segments. Caretsky was most recently employed by Synon Corporation, Larkspur, CA, where he spent five years in various executive positions, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of their software division. His responsibilities spanned all aspects of general business operations including marketing, pre- and post-sales support, and professional services.

Prior to joining Synon Corporation, Caretsky was employed as Regional Sales Director for Cognos Corporation. In his new position at Commence Corporation, he will be responsible for all aspects of corporate sales and operations. He will also oversee the marketing and professional services departments, which will continue to be headed by Russ Lombardo, Vice President of Marketing.
