Commemorate the Opening of New Runway 17/35 at the Minneapolis St. Paul-International Airport.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for the public to run, walk,
                   dance and play on the new runway!

When:   This Saturday, September 24
        9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Where:  New Runway 17/35

        --  From the north, take Highway 77 south from Minneapolis to
            the Diagonal Blvd. exit. Turn right on Cedar Ave S. and
            travel north to 66th St. Turn right on 66th St. Cross over
            Highway 77 and take the 2nd left to exhibit parking,
            adjacent to the new runway.

        --  From the south, take Interstate 494 to the 24th Ave. exit.
            Travel north on 24th Avenue into the airport. The road
            becomes Longfellow Ave., wind briefly west before running
            north again toward the exhibit site. Turn right at 66th
            Street and follow the service road north to media parking.

What:   A free community celebration of MSP's new runway and
        completion of the $3.1 billion 2010 airport expansion program.
        Photo ops include: 5K race and Family Fun Run/Walk on the
        runway; aircraft on display; airport equipment and exhibits;
        Airport Police K9 demonstrations; children's activities; MSP
        Trivia Contest; live music by Martin Zellar and the Hardways,
        Big Walter Smith and the Groove Merchants, and the St. Thomas
        Academy Marching Band.

9 a.m.            5K on the Runway

10 a.m.           1K Family Fun Run/Walk

10:15 a.m.        Race Awards at Bandstand

10:30 a.m.        St. Thomas Academy Marching Band on the Runway

10 a.m.- 5 p.m    Get up close to airplanes and aviation equipment;
                  learn more about air traffic control, aeronautics,
                  weather service, and airport public health and
                  safety activities; watch K-9 narcotics team
                  demonstrations; learn more about efforts to protect
                  the environment and mitigate noise around MSP; view
                  the whole line of snow removal equipment that helps
                  make MSP the most lauded airport for snow removal in
                  North America. Get a Taste of MSP, with food from
                  Minnesota-brand favorites Caribou Coffee, D'Amico &
                  Sons, Dunn Brothers, DQ Grill and Chill, and French
                  Meadow Bakery.

Noon - 2:30 p.m.  Rock out to Martin Zellar and the Hardways

3 p.m.            MSP Trivia Contest Winner Announced at the Bandstand

3-5 p.m.          Blues on the Runway featuring Big Walter Smith and
                  the Groove Merchants
