Prior to working at Compaq, Heil held positions at a wide range of companies engaged in highly advanced technologies. Prior to joining LA Cellular, Heil spent four years with Sony Corporation where he initially served as Vice President of National Accounts for all Sony consumer products, increasing sales threefold under his leadership. Heil was later promoted to Vice President of Marketing for Sony's Display Products Division where he was responsible for designing and executing product line marketing strategies for all television products. He was subsequently promoted to President of the Division.
