The objective of Nations in Bloom is to encourage investment in the environment and to promote excellence in environmental management, which is certainly one of the National Recreation and Park Association's Vision 2000 strategies. Nations in Bloom presents the Environmental Communities of the World awards and provides communities the opportunity to tell the world how they have improved their citizens' quality of life. Again, this sounds like one of the benefits of parks and recreation. Twenty-five communities from 11 countries, selected through a written submission to participate in the finals, made oral presentations supported by slides and a video to a panel of judges Panel of Judges is an indie pop band from Melbourne, Australia.
