DFA's National brand chocolate milk and Choglit, a chocolate-flavored dairy drink developed by Coca-Cola and Nestle, can be stored longer than milk in traditional packaging or at room temperature.

According to the DFA, milk with a longer shelf life reduces burdens on distribution centers and the return of expired products while enabling new distribution channels to be opened.
