Sir Frederick Ashton - British choreographer (1906-1988) Ashton by inviting four companies--The Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet The Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) is one of the UK's foremost ballet companies, based at the Birmingham Hippodrome in Birmingham, where it enjoys custom-built facilities such as the Jerwood Centre for the Prevention and Treatment of Dance Injuries and the , K Ballet of Tokyo (in its U.S. debut), and The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago--to dance twelve ballets plus assorted pas de deux pas de deux (French; “step for two”) Dance for two performers. A characteristic part of classical ballet, it includes an adagio, or slow dance, by the ballerina and her partner; solo variations by the male dancer and then the ballerina; and a coda, or by the English choreographer July 6-17 at the Metropolitan Opera House. Included will be the rarely toured Dante Sonata, Enigma Variations, Cinderella, and The Two Pigeons.
