Coming This Summer to a Theatre Near You Bookworm Wednesdays; National Amusements Launches 1999 Summer Reading Program.


DEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 12, 1999--

National Amusements National Amusements, Inc. is a privately owned media and entertainment company based in Dedham, Massachusetts. The company was founded in 1936 as the Northeast Theatre Corporation by Michael Redstone. , Inc., owner and operator of Showcase Cinemas and Multiplex Cinemas launches "Bookworm bookworm, popular name for the larvae of several beetles that bore through books, e.g., the drugstore, spider, and deathwatch beetles.  Wednesdays," an exciting summer reading program developed to encourage children to read during the summer months. The four-week reading program entitles elementary school elementary school: see school.  children free admission to a select children's film every Wednesday when they present a book report at participating National Amusements' theatre box offices.

"Bookworm Wednesdays" will run every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., from July 28 through August 18, 1999 in select markets including New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Virginia. The four-week movie schedule includes The Rugrats Movie, Babe: Pig in the City, Mouse Hunt and Baby Geniuses.

Each week three children per market will win movie passes for their entire homeroom home·room
