Comic's Bruce almighty; BRUCE DEVLIN.


BRUCE is a cross between Miss Jean Brodie and Larry Grayson Larry Grayson (21 August 1923–7 January 1995), born William White, was an English much loved camp comedian and gameshow host of the late 1970s.

Born in Banbury in 1923 to unmarried parents, he was adopted into a coal mining family in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

One of our best up-and-coming comics, his act is described as endearingly crude and profanely insulting.

He is a graduate of The Stand Comedy Club's workshop programme and first performed there in 2000. He is now one of their most popular comperes and is a fixture on the Edinburgh Fringe This article or section may contain original research or unverified claims.

MacAulay's morning radio show and has many TV credits, including the Johnny Vegas show, Who's Ready For Ice Cream? Now in his early 30s, Bruce did a variety of jobs before taking up comedy.

He said: "I'd been sacked from every job I ever did. I was a hairdresser, a barperson and a shop assistant but I just wanted to be an actor.

"Comedy is a difficult discipline but my partner works a 40-hour week and that's harder. A key thing is being informed.

"I feel privileged to be able to cheer people up."
