Comfy revisit. We used to mention the Dutch site Archined a lot. But for some reason, not for three years after we reported that it would soon be sporting an English version. It now does. Remember to hit the 'switch to English' text under the banner at the left when you type in www.archined.nl. The home page is arranged as three columns. What looks like the navigation runs down the left with a column of ads on the right and a triple-width column in the middle. Here, and this is a bit confusing con·fuse v. con·fused, con·fus·ing, con·fus·es v.tr. 1. a. To cause to be unable to think with clarity or act with intelligence or understanding; throw off. b. , the lead features material from previous 'issues'. It is confusing because you normally expect to find here the meat of the current issue. The other confusion is that the navigation turns out to be across the top: the left-hand side left-hand side n → izquierda left-hand side left n → linke Seite f left-hand side n → lato or stuff is actually a set of links to new websites and books and things like that. OK it doesn't conform to Verb 1. conform to - satisfy a condition or restriction; "Does this paper meet the requirements for the degree?" fit, meet coordinate - be co-ordinated; "These activities coordinate well" standard, but you don't really mind because this is a well-worn couch A couch, loveseat, sofa, settee, lounge, davenport or chesterfield are items of furniture for the comfortable seating of more than one person. Compare the joiner's settle, with its separate seat cushions. of a site. You feel comfortable enough about the bit of chaos here and there because there is so much material. An exception is the chat room, The Forum. This is, as this sort of feature tends to be, moribund moribund /mor·i·bund/ (mor´i-bund) in a dying state. mor·i·bund n. At the point of death; dying. mor : the last entry is dated March last year. Happily the Events section is right up to date. There are details of competitions, reviews, new sites, jobs and some news. This is the sort of site it's worth checking out from time to time if only to see how other Europeans are thinking about architectural things. |
