Come to carnival; Mailbag.


A NUMBER of months ago via your columns I threw down the gauntlet gauntlet /gaunt·let/ (gawnt´let) a bandage covering the hand and fingers like a glove.  to see if any running clubs or runners wanted to beat Derek Ibbotson's younger brother's record of running from Berry Brow Carnival site to Castle Hill and back in under 14 minutes.

The only respondent was my dog! But as he zig-zags and gets distracted I doubt he'll do it. So, for less active runners and others, the challenge is now open to enter the tug-o-war competition. This only involves moving about 6 metres! Or the even less strenuous sitting on a roundabout or throwing balls at coconuts.

All these monumental challenges will be available at the carnival At The Carnival is a 1989 computer puzzle game by Cliff Johnson.  on July 25 at Berry Brow playing fields, Newsome Road South. Buses and trains available if you don't want to run there.
