Comdisco to Provide $160 Million Global Technology Management Program to The SABRE Group.


ROSEMONT, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 1999--Comdisco (Comdisco, Inc., Rosemont, IL, www.comdisco.com) A technology services company, originally founded as Computer Discount Company in 1969 by Ken Pontikes. By the mid 1990s, Comdisco had become one of the largest independent computer and electronics equipment leasing companies as well as a leader in asset management and business continuity services. By 1997, Comdisco provided help for more than 250 disaster recovery incidents., Inc. (NYSE:CDO) has been selected to provide The SABRE Group (NYSE:TSG) with a seven-year global technology management program, designed to assist in the acquisition, management and deployment of The SABRE Group's worldwide technology environment.

Under the contract, valued at $160 million for IT hardware and services, Comdisco will provide The SABRE Group with asset and market management strategies, IT leasing and remarketing, and other services that will allow The SABRE Group to achieve low cost capacity and maximum operational and financial flexibility in its technology pool. Initially, the program will focus on The SABRE Group's enterprise systems, but may be expanded to include other equipment.
