Comdisco Opens Cyberspace Office on World Wide Web.


Rosemont, IL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 1995--Comdisco Disaster Recovery Services, the world's leader in enterprisewide business continuity services, opened a "virtual office" on the Internet with the debut of a World Wide Web site. The site will provide visitors with a comprehensive library of industry information containing the latest research, products and services, articles, issue papers and interviews on topics pertaining to methodologies for disaster recovery strategies.

Details on Comdisco's other lines of business, including computer leasing, equipment for the semiconductor and medical industry, asset management and systems integration will be accessible later this summer. Comdisco installed a Sun 670 MP in its Rosemont, IL, headquarters and is self-managing its Web site.

Comdisco unveiled its home page to customers in April, during the company's annual disaster recovery users' conference. Attendees received a CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

 Pontikes, the Comdisco site is attracting more interest than anticipated, generating more than 7,000 "hits" in its first month. Comdisco tracks the number of times each feature is accessed and is making more information available in the most frequently visited portions of its site. The most frequently downloaded pages include the Vulnerability Index SM research report, an overview of ComPAS recovery planning software, recovery planning methodologies and strategies for recovering distributed systems.
