Comcast and EarthLink Announce Technical Trial of High-Speed Cable-Based Internet Service.

), the nation's second-largest Internet services provider, today announced an agreement to offer EarthLink's broadband Internet See broadband.  services in a technical trial over a Comcast cable system.

Planned for the second quarter of 2001 in the Philadelphia area, the trial will allow EarthLink and Comcast to test their services in anticipation of negotiating a definitive agreement.

Under the terms of the arrangement, EarthLink and Comcast will work together to develop and deploy a technical trial under which select Comcast customers will be offered the option of using EarthLink's broadband Internet services through a Comcast Cable connection. Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

This agreement will make EarthLink the second non-affiliated company to test high-speed Internet See broadband.  access over Comcast cable systems. In November of 2000, Comcast and Juno Online Services Juno client software icon

Juno is an Internet service provider based in the United States. It is a subsidiary of United Online, which also owns NetZero and Bluelight Internet Services.
