Comcast SportsNet Schedules HD With Chyron.

Chyron Corporation announced today that its Duet HD 2D/3D graphics and animation system will be used by Comcast SportsNet as the regional sports television network rolls out its high-definition professional game coverage starting in January 2003.

The Duet HD will become a part of Comcast SportsNet's new high-definition mobile production unit from which it will produce more than 200 pro game telecasts each year in HD for the NBA, NHL, and MLB teams in Philadelphia and Baltimore/Washington DC.

Duet HD is a comprehensive, two-channel system providing professional character generation and HDTV animation in 6RU. With a choice of 1080i and 720p broadcast standards, the Duet HD features two 2D/3D Video Graphics Engines (VGEs); a 5-Layer HD Mix/Effects Board; CAL API for automated data-driven applications such as NewsCrawl; and options including MOS interface and Lyric authoring software. Designed for ease of composition and playback, Duet HD is suited for a variety of HDTV graphics and animation applications such as news, weather, sports, promotions and production.
