 (Nasdaq:CCUR CCUR Center for Crops Utilization Research ) today announced that Comcast Cable Communications, Inc., a division of Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq:CMCSK)(Nasdaq:CMCSA), has signed a strategic volume purchase agreement with Concurrent in which Comcast agrees to purchase MediaHawk(TM) Broadband Video-On-Demand (VOD See video-on-demand.

In addition to the signing of the agreement, Concurrent announced that it has received purchase orders for an aggregate of 79 MediaHawk Broadband VOD servers from Comcast for eight system-wide VOD deployments. The eight undisclosed systems include both Motorola DCT-2000 set-top systems, as well as Scientific Atlanta Explorer set-top systems.

"The launch of Video-On-Demand this year will be an important next step in our digital strategy to offer customers even more viewing choices than ever," said Steve Burke, president of Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. "Concurrent has proven itself as one of the leaders in Video-On-Demand technology, and this agreement reflects our belief that they can help us achieve our goal of being a new products leader."

Jack Bryant, president and chief executive officer of Concurrent Computer Corporation, stated: "We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Comcast. I applaud Comcast for the leadership position it is establishing in the deployment of new products, and we look forward to supporting their aggressive roll-out of Video-On-Demand in several systems in 2001 and 2002." He continued: "These eight new system deployments from Comcast allow us to reaffirm the Company's previous guidance for the third quarter ended March 31, 2001 of $10 million in revenue for its Video-On-Demand division and $10 million in revenue for its Real-Time division. We still expect the consolidated results of the company to be break-even for the quarter."
