 and entered into a multi-year agreement to purchase blank chips that will be used to synthesize custom gene chips. The agreement also gives CBRC access to the CombiMatrix set of informatics tools to help in their efforts to expand biotechnology related businesses in Japan.

The CombiMatrix Custom Microarray Synthesizer allows pharmaceutical and life science researchers to specify gene targets, design and synthesize custom semiconductor based microarrays. All equipment, software and database technologies can be installed behind the firewall of the customer for privacy of data and speed of experimental design reiteration.

CombiMatrix KK, a joint venture between CombiMatrix Corporation and Marubeni Corporation, is the subsidiary and exclusive supplier of CombiMatrix products in Japan.

The CBRC is a center for excellence for the design and implementation of advanced information science technology and large-scale high-speed computational systems for use in biotechnology.
