I recently moved to nev.from abut have been going back to ca. every 2 to 3 weeks for med.
 experienced by many gays and lesbians. Now antigay religious groups are using the event to open theirs.

The Day of Truth, launched by the Alliance Defense Fund The Alliance Defense Fund ("ADF") is a conservative Christian non-profit organization with the stated goal of "defending the right to hear and speak the Truth through strategy, training, funding, and litigation.  one day after the 10th annual Day of Silence, encouraged students to wear T-shirts with the slogan THE TRUTH CANNOT BE SILENCED and to pass out cards condemning con·demn

The counterevent, which had only about 1,150 participants, didn't concern Kevin Jennings, executive director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network. It was a political stunt by an organization, he said, whereas the Day of Silence was an event "conceived of by students themselves in response to a very real problem."
