 C28 thermometer thermometer, instrument for measuring temperature. Galileo and Sanctorius devised thermometers consisting essentially of a bulb with a tubular projection, the open end of which was immersed in a liquid.  is waterproof to IP67 standards and has an over-molded case with Biocote[TM] antimicrobial antimicrobial /an·ti·mi·cro·bi·al/ (-mi-kro´be-al)

The C28 accommodates all K-type thermocouple probes with a range of -328[degrees] to +1,112[degrees]F and an accuracy of better than 1[degrees]F (0.1 percent [+ or -]0.4[degrees]F).

The large LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light. Unenergized, the crystals direct light through two polarizing filters, allowing a natural background color to show.  shows both temperature and time. The clock function adds a countdown timer--great for timing how long a probe has been inserted so as to achieve a more accurate reading. The timer timer,
n radiographic timing device that functions as an automatic exposure timer and a switch to control the current to the high-tension transformer and filament transformer. The face of the timer is calibrated in seconds and fractions of seconds.
 also can be used to monitor cooking times while the instrument is being used to carry out further temperature checks.

Other features include a data hold to freeze a reading on the display while it is written down; a selectable auto switch-off of 3 minutes, 10 minutes, or 30 minutes; and a battery life of 7,000 hours.

The C28KIT includes the thermometer plus the PK19M fast-penetration probe.
