Coma dad's heartbreak.A HEARTBROKEN husband today told how he watched his wife slip into a coma from which she will never wake. Mother-of-three Alison Pearce was struck down with a mystery illness which at first gave her crippling crip·ple n. 1. A person or animal that is partially disabled or unable to use a limb or limbs: cannot race a horse that is a cripple. 2. A damaged or defective object or device. tr.v. headaches and within weeks left her permanently unconscious unconscious, in psychology, that aspect of mental life that is separate from immediate consciousness and is not subject to recall at will.
