ComTeq Federal Awarded Hewlett-Packard GSA Contract.ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 4, 1999--ComTeq Federal Inc. announced today that the United States General Services Administration The General Services Administration (GSA) was established by section 101 of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C.A. § 751). The GSA sets policy for and manages government property and records. See GSM Association and GSM. ) has awarded a contract modification adding the entire line of Hewlett-Packard (HP) Intel-based systems to ComTeq's GSA Computer Supply Schedule. The GSA Schedule is open to all Federal buyers and is the largest source for acquiring computer equipment in the Government. The value of this contract change is estimated at $10 million per year. The contract runs until 2002. Hewlett Packard is a leading manufacturer of computer products used by the Government. HP's decision to award ComTeq one of its limited supply authorizations for this contract is a recognition of ComTeq's growing strength in the Federal marketplace. In 1998, ComTeq's sales to the Federal Government grew by 42% to $63 million. "We are very excited to add ComTeq to our list of Schedule contract holders.
