Harmonic's FTTP solution is a RF video overlay system for a passive optical network (PON (Passive Optical Network) An optical point-to-multipoint access network. There are no optical repeaters or other active devices in a PON, hence the name "passive. ) architecture that encompasses broadcast transmitters, optical amplifiers and a range of optical passive components. Harmonic's FLXLink 1-Gbps and T1 NIUs are also utilized to distribute IP services across the network using the same fiber.
