ComNet '96 announced expanded conference program; Premier networking tradeshow to be held January 29 - February 1,1996.

Almost 450 leading vendors will exhibit the latest networking products and technologies, including ATM switches, LAN servers, switched Ethernet, multimedia applications, high-speed bridges, virtual LANs, smart hubs, Frame Relay switches, multiprotocol routers, v. fast modems, Internet services, bandwidth on-demand, bandwidth managers, network operating systems, network management systems, videoconferencing services, mobile data communications, wireless devices and much more. Hundreds of new products will be announced at ComNet '96 as part of the ComNet New Product Achievement Award program.

The ComNet '96 exhibition will once again feature LiveNet, a one-of-a-kind show network that demonstrates the seamless integration of legacy and advanced technologies in one multivendor, multiprotocol, multiplatform enterprise network. The technologies on display and implementation of technologies will be explained in a 2-day LiveNet tutorial as well.

The ComNet '96 exhibition will also feature an Internet terminal area free for attendee use, sponsored by Compuserve; the IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  Internet Training Theater; and the Vision Dome, a 3-D immersive environment that allows users and participants to view, manipulate and transform 3D information into a non-restrictive, Virtual Reality environment.

ComNet '96 is expected to attract almost 45,000 professionals from a broad range of disciplines within their organizations including MIS, LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area.
