ComNet/DC '99 Announces Call for Entries for New Product Achievement Awards Competition.


WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 1998--

Annual competition recognizes products and services with far-reaching effects on the networking, communications industries communications industry, broadly defined, the business of conveying information. Organizers of ComNet/Washington, D.C. '99 today announced they are accepting nominations for the event's annual New Product Achievement Awards competition, a wide-ranging competition that highlights new products and services which promise to have significant impact on the enterprise networking The networking infrastructure in a large enterprise with multiple computer systems and networks of different types is extraordinarily complex. Due to the myriad of interfaces that are required, much of what goes on has little to do with the real data processing of the payroll and orders.  and communications industries.

The competition is open to all exhibitors of ComNet/Washington, D.C., the premier networking and communications event which takes place Jan. 26 - 28 at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center and Washington, D.C. Renaissance Hotel.

Sponsored by InfoWorld magazine, the New Product Achievement Awards competition will identify the best networking and communications products and services in a variety of categories:

-- Network Management -- Carrier/WAN -- LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. ComNet attendees who aren't affiliated with an exhibiting company will cast their ballots for the best product within each of the eight categories. In addition, they will choose the overall ComNet/Washington, D.C. '99 Most Innovative New Product or Service.

All finalist products and services will be displayed prominently in the lobby of the Washington, D.C. Convention Center throughout the duration of the show. Winners will be announced Jan. 27 at the New Product Achievement Awards ceremony at the Washington, D.C. Renaissance Hotel.
