Com21 and HSA to Deliver Cable Modem Systems to Marcus Cable; Com21 and HSA Sign Contract to Distribute High Speed Internet Solutions to Cable Operators.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 1998--Com21, Inc., a manufacturer of high-speed cable modem communications systems, has announced today that HSA, Corp., a cable Internet service provider, will use Com21 ComUNITY Access cable modems to supply Marcus Cable with high speed Internet services. The cable operator plans to launch the new service in its Wisconsin locations of Eau Claire and Rice Lake, passing a total of 60,000 homes this year.

Com21 and HSA also announced that they have signed a marketing agreement under which HSA will provide distribution, integration and maintenance of the Com21 ComUNITY Access cable modem system.

According to HSA, the Internet service provider selected the Com21 system based on its technical leadership and proven market experience. Features such as QoS, VLANs and superior RF separate Com21 from the competition, making it the most advanced and reliable cable modem system available today.

In addition, Com21 has proven reliability with systems installed in countries such as Europe, South America, Japan, and the Pacific Rim.
