Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2003

Com-Guard Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB).
: CGUD), the technology company that offers integrated solutions for several computer security markets, announced today a Licensing and Distribution Agreement with the Danish hardware maker ZignX for its patented security technology.

Com-Guard will use this technology in Com-Guard's SecurePC(TM) computer system, available later this year to address a portion of the 8+ billion dollar Enterprise Security Market (Datamonitor August 8, 2003) and the growing needs of governmental agencies and other associations to comply with regulations such as those mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1996.

According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website, Title I of HIPAA protects health insurance coverage for workers and their families when

Com-Guard's SecurePC(TM) enables organizations to control the level of access that specific individuals or groups of individuals have to a particular system, as well as to what combination of hardware resources, operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. In practice, many of these groupings may overlap. , proprietary data, and network connections can be accessed on that system.

An intelligent access control module, using a combination of Smart Cards Example of widely used contactless smart cards are Hong Kong's Octopus card, Paris' Calypso/Navigo card and Lisbon' LisboaViva card, which predate the ISO/IEC 14443 standard. For instance, certain users may be restricted from using any removable storage or network connections to insure that confidential information Noun 1. confidential information - an indication of potential opportunity; "he got a tip on the stock market"; "a good lead for a job"

In other applications such as those found in highly secure governmental or enterprise environments, it may be necessary to completely isolate private and public networks. Com-Guard's SecurePC also can be configured to provide a highly secure platform for the corporate telecommuter A person who telecommutes. The Com-Guard/ZignX technologies provide secure access control for up to eight internal drives or other devices with as many as nine user profiles, each of which can be assigned to user groups or individuals as necessary.

Com-Guard will offer several standard configurations and will assist buyers who need to customize specifications regarding the number of hard disk or other drives needed.

Com-Guard will separately distribute the technology and access control module through system integrators or to OEMs. Target markets include enterprise, health care, and government bodies employing individuals with varying security or privacy clearances.

When organizations require that one physical system be used by multiple people or groups with different security clearances or access rights, Com-Guard's SecurePC integrated technologies will be a uniquely valuable IT asset. "With the SecurePC," said Joseph Sigismonti, Com-Guard's president, "entities will achieve optimal management and control over their work force's access to internal networks and proprietary, highly sensitive Adj. 1. highly sensitive - readily affected by various agents; "a highly sensitive explosive is easily exploded by a shock"; "a sensitive colloid is readily coagulated"  data."
