Columbus, Ohio, residents can use a new interactive mapping tool to find out about city services and facilities, now that PlanGraphics, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

: PGRA PGRA Plant Growth Regulator Abstracts (database) ) has launched the first phase of the "My Neighborhood" Internet portal. PlanGraphics developed the application working with the city's Department of Technology.

The application is accessible at http://gis.columbus.gov/myn/MN_Welcome.asp. Users need no special software, only Internet access and a standard Web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. In order to view a site, you type its address (URL) into the browser's Location field; for example, www.computerlanguage.com, and the home page of that site is downloaded to you. .

"This shows that the Columbus GIS is now delivering products at the enterprise level," said Wade Wilson, a PlanGraphics senior analyst who is stationed on-site in Columbus.

The initial release of "My Neighborhood" provides information about the following:

-- Public health (hospitals, clinics, urgent care centers)

-- Safety (fire, police)

-- Parks and recreation (parks, community centers, senior

centers), and

-- Elected officials.

Additional enhancements will be added to the application in the future, positioning it to support the city's 311 program, providing information that spans city departments.
