About 60 percent of staff members at Columbine High School Columbine High School is a secondary school in unincorporated Jefferson County, Colorado. The school is located at 6201 South Pierce Street, one mile west of the Littleton city limits and half a mile south of the Denver city/county line.  in Littleton, Colo., have left since the deadly shooting there in 1999.

Only 58 of the 143 staff members from 1999 are still at the school. Specifically, the school's teacher turnover rate was just 11 percent from 1999 to 2001.

The national yearly teacher turnover rate as of fall 2001 was nearly 16 percent, according to research by Richard Ingersoll, associate professor at University of Pennsylvania (body, education) University of Pennsylvania - The home of ENIAC and Machiavelli.

Columbine seniors Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold Eric David Harris (April 9, 1981 – April 20, 1999) and Dylan Bennet Klebold (September 11, 1981 – April 20, 1999) were the high school seniors who committed the Columbine High School massacre. They killed 13 people and injured 24 others.  killed 13 people and wounded 23 others on April 20, 1999, before killing themselves.

A post-traumatic stress syndrome specialist in Indianapolis said the high turnover is common after such a tragedy. "One of the most common ways of coping is flight," said Steven M.
