The Skier X competition is a race for speed and agility. Unintentional contact is legal, unlike other more traditional skiing competitions. "Going head to head with the other skiers is a total rush," said 28 year-old Crist. "I am proud to have won and I am proud to be representing the best outerwear in the market."

Crist has been a Columbia-sponsored athlete since January 2001, and was wearing Columbia Sportswear's Ice Dragon Parka(TM) during the competition.

Crist took 3rd place in last year's 2000 Skier X competition, and is a six-year veteran of the U.S. Ski Team. In the 1999 Eclipse, Crist took first place in the Skiercross competition. Crist also is a member of the Columbia sponsored Men's Journal Adventure Team.
