International sports program for people with intellectual disability. It provides year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type summer and winter sports for participants.

The games take place June 21-29, 2003 in Dublin, Ireland. All 1300 Team USA athletes and the 350 Team USA coaches will wear Columbia Sportswear from head to toe.

Columbia donated jackets, trail-running shoes, pants, tees, shorts and bags to both Team USA athletes and coaches. Columbia will outfit the Special Olympics athletes in Columbia's latest Titanium Multi-Sport line -- a highly technical line dedicated specifically to outdoor aerobic activity. Additionally, athletes will sport Columbia's latest trail running shoes from its newest Titanium Trail Running line. Special Olympics Team USA, consisting of 1300 athletes from all 50 states, will join more than 7000 Special Olympic competitors and 3,000 coaches from approximately 160 international delegations at the 2003 Summer World Games. This is Columbia's third year as a sponsor.
