Columbia Sportswear Announces One World Family Donation.

) a global leader in the active outdoor apparel and footwear industries, announced today that it will make a $15,000 donation to One World Family, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of South African children impacted by AIDS. The donation will be presented to the organization founders in Capetown, South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa.  by Columbia Sportswear Chairman, Gertrude Boyle on Wednesday, October 20.

"We're very excited that we can contribute to an organization that touches so many children's lives in South Africa," said Gert Boyle. "As we continue to distribute our products throughout the world, we're pleased to partner with organizations that have a sizeable and global impact."

Columbia Sportswear will distribute its products through Foschini Retail Group, a subsidiary of Foschini Limited, throughout South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, and Lesotho. Initially, Foschini Retail Group is offering the Columbia collection in "Due South," its new retail concept opening late 2004 with seven stores located in Cape Town Cape Town or Capetown, city (1991 pop. 854,616), legislative capital of South Africa and capital of Western Cape, a port on the Atlantic Ocean. It was the capital of Cape Province before that province's subdivision in 1994. , Johannesburg, and Pretoria.
