Columbia Progress Report on PII Llano Colorado Project.

TORONTO -- Columbia Metals Corporation Limited (TSX TSX Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE before April, 2002)

VENTURE:COL) ("Columbia") is pleased to provide a progress report on the work being conducted on, and planned for, it's PII See Pentium II.  Llano lla·no
n. pl. lla·nos
A large, grassy, almost treeless plain, especially one in Latin America.

Colorado Project located in south-eastern Sonora, Mexico.

The PII claim was acquired, initially, to cover a high-grade sphalerite sphalerite (sfăl`ərīt, sfā`–), mineral composed of zinc sulfide, usually containing some iron and a little cadmium. It occurs in crystals of the isometric system but more generally in cleavable, compact masses.  (zinc) showing in felsic fel·sic

Containing a group of light-colored silicate minerals that occur in igneous rocks.

areas containing anomalous values in gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc. A reconnaissance scale soil geochemical survey revealed the presence of four, partially overlapping, geochemical anomalies complemented by anomalous rock samples (previously reported Dec 29, 2004). Additional claims have been acquired to cover all of the gossan and anomalous areas. The project area now consists of nine (9), 100% owned, claims (2434.23 hectares).

A detailed grid with lines at 150 metre intervals was established over the geochemically anomalous areas and soil sampling has been conducted at 50 metre intervals on the grid. The more detailed work has confirmed the reconnaissance anomalies, has extended the anomalous areas to west and to the south and provided additional detail to the previously recognized anomalies. In the area of Buenavista Hill, in-fill lines have been established at 25 metre centres and the soil sample interval was reduced to 25 metres. More detailed work is also being carried out in the vicinity of the zinc zone to help establish the strike extent of this zone.

Systematic geological mapping and rock sampling are being carried out over the entire grid area. The property geology is proving to be considerably more complex, lithologically li·thol·o·gy

zones are present on the enlarged property. Sufficient geological mapping has been done to permit the construction of a new preliminary interpretive map which will be posted to the company's website. Additionally, enough systematic rock chip samples have been taken and analysed to produce contoured rock geochemical anomaly maps for each of the following elements: gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc. Two maps depicting the anomalous responses for a) gold (Au) and silver (Ag) and b) copper (Cu), lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) will also be posted to the website. A table presenting the results from some of the recent rock chip sampling is attached.

Environmental permits have been secured and access roads to the anomalous areas have been established with the concurrence of the local ranchers. Arrangements have been made to conduct induced polarization ("IP") surveys over the presently known mineralized and anomalous areas. Geophysical survey work is scheduled to begin in late July. Diamond drill ("DD")and Reverse Circulation ("RC") drill tests of the known mineralized areas, the geochemically anomalous areas, and the likely forthcoming geophysical targets is planned for late August, the earliest that a specialized track mounted drill capable of both diamond core and reverse circulation drilling will be available.

A planned helicopter borne VTEM electromagnetic and magnetic survey to have been conducted in April did not take place as the contractor was unable to secure enough work in the state to justify the steep Mexican entry fees and warrant ferrying a VTEM equipped aircraft from Canada.

Field work was carried out by the Columbia's Mexican geological personnel under the supervision of S. Sears, P. Geol., Q.P. and J. Steers, P. Eng., Q.P.

Sample preparation was performed by the ALS Als (äls), Ger. Alsen, island, 121 sq mi (313 sq km), Sønderjylland co., S Denmark, in the Lille Bælt, separated from the mainland by the narrow Alensund.  Chemex sample preparation laboratory in Hermosillo; all assay work was performed by ALS Chemex in Vancouver. In addition to the routine quality control work carried out by ALS Chemex the company has established a quality control protocol consisting of the routine use of certified standards, sample duplicates and blank samples.

This news release was prepared by J. E. Steers, P. Eng., Q.P., and V. P. Exploration for the company.
