GOLD MINES (VSE See DOS/VSE. It is Hawaii's coffee belt and the only coffee-producing area in the United States. The Kona coast, with fine deep-sea fishing offshore, is a favorite tourist spot. deposit. All drilling to date, over a 1.2 kilometre strike length, has yet to define the ultimate limits of mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. . Additional encouragement is being met as recent drilling indicates thicker zones of massive sulphide mineralization within southern and western extensions of the Kona deposit. Quantitative verse, the metre of Classical Greek and Latin poetry, measures the length of time required to pronounce syllables, step-out to the south, intersected approximately 40 metres (130 feet) of massive sulphide zone. Recently completed holes 66 and 67 stepped out 100 metres to the west and intersected 30 and 40 metre massive sulphide intervals indicating an apparent thickening to the west. This drilling brings the potential width of the Kona zone up to 300 metres. Assays from holes 61 through 67 should be available in three weeks. Tabled below are assays for drill holes 96-50, 51, 54 and
60, drilled in the southern part of the Kona along its eastern
margin. These results indicate a thinning of the upper and lower
horizons as they approach their eastern limits.

Assays have been received for drill holes 96-46 through 96-60.
Drill holes 96-46, 47, 48, 52 and 58 are not reported, having
intersected mineralization grading less than one percent copper.
In summary, the eastern edge of the upper and lower horizons of
the Kona deposit are being defined. The northern extension is still
open with near surface 3.1 metre intervals reaching 5.17 percent
copper and 1.10 grams gold. Recent drilling is indicating a marked
thickening of mineralization to the west and south.
It is Columbia Gold's objective to define one or more massive
sulphide deposits at Fyre Lake that will total in excess of 20
million metric tonnes with lower grade mined by open pit and deeper
higher grade zones mined from underground. Upon completion of this
season's drilling, scoping studies will be undertaken in order to set
economic parameters for guiding continued reserve definition drilling
during 1997.
