Columbia Gold hits high grade mineralization in southerly step-outs.VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 1996--COLUMBIA GOLD MINES (VSE See DOS/VSE. VSE - Virtual Storage Extended :COB) High grade copper-gold mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. has been encountered in the two "step-out" diamond drill holes completed in the latter stages of the 1996 exploration season at Columbia Gold's Fyre Lake project in the Finlayson Lake district, Yukon. The company reported today that a significant southerly step-out of 200 metres in hole 65 from section 111,200N to 111,000N intersected a thickened thick·en tr. & intr.v. thick·ened, thick·en·ing, thick·ens 1. Various principles have been devised to organize poetic lines into rhythmic units. Quantitative verse, the metre of Classical Greek and Latin poetry, measures the length of time required to pronounce syllables, section grading 2.29 percent copper and 0.53 g/T gold that included a central core zone grading 6.07 percent copper and 0.68 g/T gold over 7.0 metres. Drill hole 68, located 100 metres north of hole 65 on section 111,100N, intersected mineralization on the edge of the basin that graded 2.66 percent copper and 1.44 g/T gold over 10.1 metres. This interval included higher grade mineralization grading 5.6 percent copper and 2.51 g/T gold over 3.0 metres. Drilling has now confirmed presence of a significant extension to the Kona deposit with higher copper-gold grades within the newly discovered basin. With a deposit thickness now reaching over 30 metres, the target area has opportunity for a large resource, the company said. Reporting on additional late season holes, the company reported that holes 66, 67, and 69 to 71 were collared on sections 111,650N and 111,600N that tested the lower zone in the northern portion of the deposit. Hole 66 intersected 13.7 metres grading 0.71 percent copper and 0.20 g/T gold and hole 67 hit 20.3 metres of 1.33 percent copper and 0.42 g/T gold. Holes 69, 70, and 71, drilled on the edge of the zone of interest, intersected mineralization grading less than 1.0 percent copper. Continued delineation drilling on the Kona deposit along with initial drill testing of an additional two zones on the property is planned for late winter/early spring 1997. -0- Columbia Gold Mines Ltd.
