Columbia Bancorp (Nasdaq:CBBO) today announced the appointment of Greg B. Spear as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective June 15, 2001.

He succeeds Neal McLaughlin, who left to join a larger Oregon financial institution in his hometown of Portland, Oregon.

Prior to joining Columbia Bancorp, Spear served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Linn-Benton Bank, a community bank based in Albany, Oregon Albany is a city in Linn County, western Oregon, United States. It is located in the Willamette Valley and is the county seat of Linn County.GR6 As of the 2000 census, the city population was 42,280 making it the 12th largest city in Oregon. .
