Columbia Announces Addition To The Board Of Directors & Appoints New Secretary.

TORONTO -- Columbia Metals Corporation Limited (TSX VENTURE:COL) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the addition, subject to regulatory approval, of Mr. A. Kaiser Akbar as a new member of the Company's board of directors. Mr. Akbar brings a wealth of experience to the Company and is a valuable complement to the present directors and management team.

Mr. Akbar is a partner at the law firm of Boyle & Co. LLP and he advises companies as to general corporate and securities law matters including stock exchange listings and regulatory compliance issues. Mr. Akbar has acted on behalf of private and public companies in matters involving, among other things, corporate finance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions and registration matters. Mr. Akbar is a graduate of University of Manitoba and holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics and holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. He has previously served as the General Counsel for Phoenix Capital Inc. (TSX-V: PNX). From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Akbar served as the President of Andromeda Telecom Inc., a privately held telecommunications equipment supplier. Mr. Akbar is currently a director of City Factor Financial Inc., a Toronto based financial services company.

The addition of Mr. Akbar to the board is subject to regulatory approval. Mr. Akbar replaces John Steers in the audit committee, who although continues to be a director of the Company, has resigned as a member of the audit committee effective immediately.

Michelle Evans has been appointed secretary of the Company and she replaces A. Kaiser Akbar, who has resigned as secretary of the Company effective immediately.
