of the treatment plant, and one percent pilot diesel fuel. Dual-fuel capabilities allow the engines to run on diesel fuel if sewage gas is unavailable.

The FMED Enviro Design engines do not require special exhaust gas emission reduction equipment, such as a Selective Catalytic Reduction Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is a means of removing nitrogen oxides, often the most abundant and polluting component in exhaust gases, through a chemical reaction between the exhaust gases, a (reductant) additive, and a catalyst.  (SCR (Sequence Control Register) See program counter. ) device, to meet emission regulations. Competitive engines require a SCR to achieve low emissions in dual-fuel operations.

Jay Burnette, director of marketing at Fairbanks Morse, said, "We are just beginning to open up the market in Southeast Asia and continue to see a keen interest in this engine model because of its low-emission properties, efficiency and cost-effectiveness."

The Fairbanks Morse Engine Division manufactures heavy-duty diesel, gas and dual-fuel engines. Coltec Industries is a diversified manufacturing company serving primarily aerospace and general industrial markets.
