Coltec Acquires Temperature Sensor Product Line From Eaton.

The acquisition complements the aerospace temperature sensor products that Coltec manufactures at its Lewis Engineering operation in Naugatuck, Connecticut Naugatuck is a borough in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 30,989 at the 2000 census. The town spans both sides of the Naugatuck River just south of Waterbury, and includes the town center of Union City, which has its own post office. , and enables Lewis to expand into additional industrial markets.

Kenneth J. Luczaj, vice president and general manager of Lewis, said, "This acquisition will allow Lewis to expand into markets formerly served by Eaton's Pressure Sensors Division. Among these new aerospace programs are additional applications for products on Boeing 777 jetliners and Bombardier's Challenger and regional jets. This acquisition supports our growth strategy as it broadens our temperature sensor technology and customer base."

All manufacturing equipment used to produce the new product line is being relocated from Eaton's facility in Bethel, Connecticut Bethel is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA, about sixty miles from New York City.

The town is easily accessible from Interstate 84 and has a train station on the Danbury Branch of Metro-North's New Haven line.
