a grey-furred squirrel, native to E North America but now common in Britain
 is actually the colour purple.

The animal caused a stir when it popped up at a school.

Staff and pupils are trying to work out how he got his colour.

Mike Edwards, an English teacher at Meoncross school, in Stubbington, Hants, said: "Its fur actually looks purple all the way through. It's an absolute mystery."
