Although chiefly residential, it has diverse manufactures, including electronic products, health and beauty aids, auto parts, and , Tenn., has purchased the polyethylene polyethylene (pŏl'ēĕth`əlēn), widely used plastic. It is a polymer of ethylene, CH2=CH2, having the formula (-CH2-CH2-)n color concentrate business of Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport Kingsport, city (1990 pop. 36,365), Hawkins and Sullivan counties, NE Tenn., on the Holston River near the Va. line; inc. 1917. Industries include one of the largest printing and bookbinding plants in the United States. , Tenn. Colortech has concentrate plants in Morristown and Brampton, Ont. Eastman produced PE concentrates for flexible packaging and containers in Kingsport. |
