Colorbus to offer Silicon Graphics Web Authoring and serving bundle with the Cyclone Imaging System.


IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 22, 1995--Colorbus Inc. Friday announced the availability of a Silicon Graphics Inc. WebFORCE(tm) bundle with the Cyclone Imaging System controller for color copiers and large format devices.

The SGI WebFORCE(tm) products enable the Cyclone to be used for World Wide Web authoring and serving in addition to generating four-color output from digital color copiers and large format devices.

The Cyclone Imaging System incorporates the Silicon Graphics Indy with a suite of Colorbus software to turn color copiers into printers. Also controlling large format devices, the Cyclone can drive 27 different output devices.

Combined with the WebFORCE(tm) tools, the Cyclone provides heterogeneous LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  connection to the Internet. Whether the client base is Unix systems, PCs or Macintosh computers, the Cyclone can operate as an external Web site, Web authoring station, internal Web server and Internet gateway.
