Colorado college offers buyouts to 86 employees.

(AP) -- Trustees of Aims Community College have voted to offer voluntary early retirement packages to 86 people, or nearly a fourth of its employees.

The Marsi were an ancient people of Italy, whose chief centre was Marruvium, on the eastern shore of Lake Fucinus. The area in which they lived is now called Marsica.

 said the vote was aimed at promoting efficiency and focusing on instruction.

Liddell said Aims had no specific goal of savings the college hoped to achieve through the buyouts and no goal for the number of staff taking the offer.

The early retirement offers would pay out employees based on length of employment.

Eligible staff include full-time faculty members, administrators and other staff who are 60 or older and have worked at Aims at least five years, or any employee who has worked there full-time for at least 15 years.
