visionbox, an interactive design firm, has launched a global Internet 

solution for Hollister Incorporated, a medical product manufacturer

headquartered in Libertyville, Ill. -- forty miles north of Chicago.

visionbox announces the launch of a new corporate web site, along with an underlying global Internet strategy, for its client, Hollister Incorporated, a world leader in healthcare product manufacturing.

The recently completed project is a comprehensive redesign of the on-line presence for Hollister, and includes global web site identity standards along with a proprietary content management system (CMS) and the capability of multi-language, country-specific web site development. On February 27, 2002, visionbox launched the redesigned corporate web site (www.hollister.com), along with new web sites for Hollister in the United States (www.hollister.com/us) and in Germany (www.hollister.com/germany).

To address Hollister's specific requirements, visionbox designed and developed a comprehensive, template-based web site solution that can be localized into any language. To ensure a globally consistent user-interface, visionbox modeled Hollister product lines into a normalized database structure, which enables Hollister to localize detailed product information and educational content on its country-specific web sites around the world.

Because Hollister is a global company with diverse product lines in diverse markets, the underlying Internet strategy developed by visionbox includes a Content Management System (CMS) with an integrated workflow subsystem built on a dynamic database. The CMS allows Hollister to maintain dynamic content locally on its country-specific web sites. Through the workflow subsystem, a local content administrator can define multiple content contributors and reviewers. When content updates are completed on a country-specific web site, all content reviewers are alerted through e-mail notification. The workflow subsystem allows content reviewers to approve or reject the content changes before those changes go live on the web site. "The workflow subsystem allows us to define separate content contributors and reviewers in each country for each product line.
